HealthOne

To help give you safer, more connected care, Naenae Medical Centre will soon start using HealthOne – this is a secure shared health record that lets authorised health professionals involved in your care see the health information when and where it is needed. HealthOne has already been used in the South Island for more than 12 years.

What does this mean for you

If you receive care from another GP, a hospital, community pharmacy, or urgent care service, clinicians involved in your care may be able to view important health information such as your allergies, medications and GP summaries.

Our practice has decided to also share the consultation notes made during appointments. This information can help other clinicians understand medication changes, how symptoms have changed over time and how your medical centre is treating you.

Sometimes, you may discuss something that you do not want to be made visible in a shared record. Let your clinician know and they can change the privacy setting for that consultation.

Having access to this information can help healthcare providers make more informed decisions and provide safer, more coordinated care.

Your information, your choice

Your privacy is important. You can choose whether some, all, or none of your health information is shared through HealthOne, and you can change your choice at any time.

Your information will only be shared with health professionals directly involved in your care, and only in line with your sharing choices. Any privacy or confidentiality settings you already have in place will also apply to HealthOne.

If you are happy for your health information to be shared through HealthOne, you do not need to do anything.

If you want to learn more about HealthOne and your privacy options:

Please note that choosing not to share some, or all of your health information could affect your care, especially if you are treated by someone who does not usually see you as they may not have all the information they need to support you as well as possible.
